America 250 Augmented Reality Art & History Tour is a site-specific augmented reality public art initiative activating historic locations across Jersey City. Through immersive mobile experiences, the project makes Revolutionary history, civic identity, and cultural memory visible in physical space, engaging communities in innovative, accessible ways.
The Vision
To transform public spaces into an interactive historical canvas.
Using QR activation geo-target locations, this mobile-based augmented reality project allows visitors unlock immersive digital experiences layered directly onto the physical sites where history unfolded. Through animation, archival imagery, interpretive narration, and spatial storytelling, the past becomes visible within the present moment.

The Apple Tree House
Legend and documented history surrounding Washington and Lafayetteโs presence in Jersey City. This activation blends scholarship with layered storytelling.

Using mobile-based AR technology and QR activation points, this project brings pivotal moments of American history into the present moment, allowing visitors to experience layered digital narratives while standing in the physical locations where history unfolded.

How It Works
At each historic site, visitors scan a QR code that activates a custom augmented reality experience on their mobile device.
Through layered visuals, animation, archival imagery, voiceover, and spatial audio, participants encounter:
