
Patricia Gianakis, is an award-winning immersive artist, professor, and creative director whose work bridges her physical art with emerging technologies. With over 20 years of experience in user experience and interface design, she has garnered awards nationally and internationally. For the last nine years, she has been a dedicated fine artist; her artworks blend physical sculpture, interactive installations, and cutting-edge digital media to explore themes of healing, spirituality, and innovation.
Holding a Masterโs Degree in Computer Art Installation from the School of Visual Arts in NYC, Gianakis has remained at the forefront of digital art and technology. She integrates augmented reality into her artwork and expands into virtual reality experiences, further enhancing her immersive storytelling. Rocky Mountain Emmy Award winner for on-air graphics created for an NBC documentary, and International Unicon Award for Best user experience for Sax’s Fifth Avenue Summer Line, and worked with Major League Baseball, MERCK, AMC TVโs Walking Dead, Breaking Bad shows, and iconic artists such as Bon Jovi, Elton John, Queen Latifah, and more.
At Saint Peterโs University, Gianakis teaches traditional and digital art, guiding students to discover their creativity by applying traditional art media with emerging tools and digital media. Foundations are the key to being a successful artist, and she helps students learn these important skills.
Her recent projects include: America 250 Augmented Reality Art & History Tour of Jersey City, launch date July 4, 2026, expected 10K visitors.ย Gianakis was selected by Creatives Rebuild New York as one of 250 artists across New York State. Designed and developed virtual set design environments using AI and Unreal Engine for television programming, including Eco Leaders, a childrenโs puppet television show that received a New York Emmy nomination.ย
Using Augmented Reality (AR) she transforms physical art into animations or integrates 3D animation into the physical world.
As a Worldbuilder, she has created captivating VR environments such as: Virtual Reality (VR) set designs for broadcast TV; Metaverse ArtWorlds with Unity, Spatial, XR Women, and Frame art galleries; and creating live art in VR with Multibrush, all contributing to the ever-evolving virtual landscape. From 2022-2024,Trish was selected as one of 300 artists to participate in and completed a two-year artist-in-residence program through Creatives Rebuild NY. She created an AR Art History tour of the Bronx and also created VR Set Designs for TV programming, an immersive artist at BronxNet TV.
