Trisha Gianakis is an award-winning immersive artist, professor, and art director whose work bridges the worlds of fine art and emerging technologies. With over 20 years of experience in user experience and interface design, she has garnered awards nationally and internationally. For the last nine years, she has been a dedicated fine artist, her artworks blend physical sculpture, interactive installations, and cutting-edge digital media to explore themes of healing, spirituality, and innovation.

Holding a Master’s Degree in Computer Art Installation from the School of Visual Arts in NYC, Gianakis has remained at the forefront of digital art and technology. She integrates augmented reality into her artwork and expanded into virtual reality experiences further enhancing her immersive storytelling. Rocky Mountain Emmy Award winner for on-air graphics created for an NBC documentary, and International Unicon Award for Best user experience for Sax’s Fifth Avenue Summer Line, and worked with Major League Baseball, MERCK, AMC TV’s Walking Dead, Breaking Bad shows, and iconic artists such as Bon Jovi, Elton John, and Queen Latifah.

At Saint Peter’s University, Professor Gianakis teaches digital art, visual art, and digital design, guiding students in creatively applying traditional art mediums with emerging tools and digital media. Her recent projects include virtual reality television set designs developed during her artist residency at BronxNet TV. She continues to pioneer the use of extended reality technologies in education, public art, and interdisciplinary creative practices.

Using Augmented Reality (AR) she transforms physical art into animations or integrates 3D animation into the physical world.

As a Worldbuilder she has created captivating VR environments such as: Virtaul Realtiy (VR) set designs for broadcasts TV; Metaverse ArtWorlds with Unity, Spatial; XR Women, and Frame art galleries; creating live art in VR with Multibrush; all contributing to the ever-evolving virtual landscape. From 2022-2024 Trish was selected as one of 300 artists to participate and completed a two-year artist-in-residence program through Creatives Rebuild NY. She created an AR Art History tour of the Bronx and also created VR Set Designs for TV programming an immersive artist at BronxNet TV.
